How the 32 achievements break down

Dressmaker has 32 achievements and, helpfully, no missables and no completion-requiring second run — community guides estimate a full completion at roughly 40–50 hours alongside the 35-hour story. Almost everything unlocks through normal play. The list falls into four groups the game itself tracks separately:

Client commissions10 achievements
Event dress sets14 achievements (all hidden)
Dialogue & pigeon3 achievements
Crafting challenges5 achievements
The one habit that matters: treat events as full sets. Several achievements only pop when every dress tied to an occasion is delivered — not the centerpiece dress. If themed requests keep arriving, an event isn't done with you yet.

Client commission achievements (10)

Each unlocks when you finish that character's entire chain of major commissions. The safest habit: never abandon a storyline just because another commission opened elsewhere.

Good Girl Gone VladVivian — Complete every major commission from Vivian.
Swan SongEdith — Complete every major commission from Edith.
Go Off, Queen!Aldora — Complete every major commission from Aldora.
Caw EvermoreAlice — Complete every major commission from Alice.
Prudence and PrejudicePrudence — Complete every major commission from Prudence.
Snitches Get StitchesDorothy — Complete every major commission from Dorothy.
A Rose By Any Other NameRose — Complete every major commission from Rose.
Drawn to HuePriya — Complete every major commission from Priya.
G.O.A.T.Marie — Complete every major commission from Marie.
Reap what You SewFiona — Complete every major commission from Fiona.
Client vs. event — tracked separately. Finishing a character's event dresses does not automatically clear their commission achievement, and vice versa. The game counts the two conditions apart, so do both.

Event dress achievements (14)

The largest group. Each requires every dress requested for that occasion — and none of them ask for a special score, completion of the full set is the only condition.

Progression, dialogue & the pigeon (3)

Three achievements sit outside the normal commission loop — two are one-time triggers, one is its own separate commission line.

You've Got MailFinish Dorothy's first dress — you'll be sent Berty, the shop's pigeon. Unlocks very early, long before Dorothy's full chain.
Sucker for PunishmentDuring Vivian's conversation about animals, pick the Leech option. One-time dialogue choice — there's no second chance in that playthrough.
Birds of a Feather, Frock TogetherComplete every commission delivered by Berty the pigeon. This is its own track and does not overlap with any client's storyline.

Crafting & spending challenges (5)

The remaining five are deliberate chores. Most burn money or materials for no benefit beyond the unlock — players who wait until late game, when resources stop mattering, report far less pain.

Sew LongComplete the Ruffle Skirt design for the first time. Easiest of the five — just play.
99 Problems But A Stitch Ain't OneReach 100% quality on a dress. Every panel must sit on the grain and every seam must score full marks. Easiest on a simple early-game design; turn on Sewing Assist in settings if corners keep eating your score.
Trim and ProperUse over 50 metres of trim on a single dress. Costs a fortune for zero benefit — save it for late game when coins don't matter.
Opulence and ExcessHave a dress succeed after paying over 5,000 gold for it. Deliberately buy the most expensive fabrics and appliances once you're rich.
Harder than it SeamsAdd 300+ accessories to one dress, then sell it. Two catches per player reports: the count must show 300 or more on the dress itself, and you must complete the sale — the unlock fires after the transaction, not when the last bow lands.

The cleanest route to 100%

  1. Play the story normally

Progress client chains and finish every event set completely as requests appear — this naturally covers 24 of the 32.

  2. Watch two early triggers

Pick Leech during Vivian's animal conversation, and always take Berty the pigeon's commissions when offered.

  3. Grab the cheap ones on the way

Sew Long (first ruffle skirt) and 99 Problems (one 100% quality dress) need no extra money — just care.

  4. Bank the expensive three for late game

50m of trim, a 5,000+ gold dress and 300 accessories only make sense once coins are no longer scarce. Then sell the monster.

FAQ

Does Dressmaker have missable achievements?
Effectively no. The dialogue-trigger achievement (Sucker for Punishment) is the only single-moment choice, and everything else can be completed after the story in the same save.
How long is 100% completion in Dressmaker?
Community guides estimate 40–50 hours against roughly 35 hours of story — the extra time is mostly the deliberate spending challenges.
Do I need a second playthrough for all achievements?
No. Every achievement can be earned in one playthrough if you finish event sets as they appear and save the expensive challenges for late game.
Which Dressmaker achievement is rarest?
Trim and Proper (50m of trim on one dress) sat at about 1% of players in late September 2026, per Steam's global stats.
