Can you play Dressmaker free?

The honest answer

Dressmaker costs $14.99 USD on Steam. There is no free-to-play version, no free trial of the full game, no ads, and no microtransactions. Anything advertising a “free full version” is unofficial and unsafe.

What is actually free

• The itch.io prototype — the original Prototype 0.5.5 is name-your-own-price, free included. It's a small but real taste of the design-cut-sew loop.
• Streams and videos — the community's creator content is enormous right now, and it doubles as a preview of endgame dressmaking.
• Sales events — none announced yet. If a free weekend ever happens it will be announced on the Steam news page.

Steam's standard refund policy applies: request a refund with under 2 hours of playtime within 14 days of purchase. For a cozy sim, two hours is enough to finish the tutorial, a commission or two, and know whether the crafting loop clicks for you.

Watch out for fake free downloads

Sites offering “Dressmaker free download PC” APKs, browser versions or cracked builds are reuploads at best and malware at worst. The only official sources are the Steam store page and the itch.io prototype page — see our download guide.
